When reality hurts

Hmm...reality is a strange thing. It is subjective, has too many sides to it and thus is different for everyone. My version of reality may or may not match with yours. It all depends on how do you interpret the reality,no matter what incident, the interpretations tend to be different. The various reality shows running on TV show us a certain reality. They tell us that reality shows is a wonderful platform for middle class people who want to be rich and famous.Unfortunately we tend to believe it,not just this but we take it to be the truth in its entirety. In the process we tend to overlook the other side of the reality. It is only when we have seen a certain Shinjini a reality show participant from Kolkata that we have bothered to look at the not so beautiful side of reality.Who is Shinjini and what has happened to her,now these questions seem to be intriguing to a lot of people like us.
Shinjini is into depression, she has become paralysed, she has succumbed to the not so pleasant remarks from the judges of the reality show she participited in.It is not about one Shinjini it is about the thousands of people who fall prey to the lures of reality shows. It is often said, success has no shortcuts but most of these shows thrive on this very point.Ruthless competition, merciless and often incompetent judges, not every child is adept at handling all this.A young age is meant for fulfilling your dreams, making every effort to turn your dreams into a reality but this cost appears to be a bit too much.
In what appeared crazy as first to be,Women and child welfare minister Mrs.Renuka Chaudhary’s remark ‘Children participating in reality shows is a form of child labour’ has now become an eye opener. As for the parents who make their children carry the burden of theior expectations reality shows appeared like the easy way out.It is often the case that the not so just aspirations of the parents make the children vulnerable to fear. The fear of what if i fail make the children weak so much so that they start hating the whole notion of failure. They fail to acknowledge that like everything else failure is a part of life too.Parents have to be careful of the legacy they give to their children. They must take proper care when they make their children understand what life is.We must see reality in full proportins, not getting biased in any wich way.
When reality hurts,it shows it’s yet another face.
